Sanskrit is not finished. Every few generations, someone announces otherwise. A dead language, a museum piece, a thing for ceremonies and nothing more. Serious people have said it, confidently, for years.
And yet this morning a child is learning her first śloka. Someone is turning over a sūtra. Someone is playing the Suprabhātam while the coffee boils. Someone is chanting the Rāmāyaṇa and the Bhagavad Gītā, and finding bliss in it.
Every day is a ‘Saṃskṛta-dinam’. Every home is a place of celebration. Every moment with Saṃskṛtam is happiness. Everything else gives a little less each time you take it. Saṃskṛtam gives more.
It is not just a language, but a tradition of wisdom, still here only because ordinary people kept choosing it. It survives because in one house, someone decides their children will hear it.
So today, one small request. If these weeks on Vyoma’s digitalsanskrit.com have given you something, keep it.
A year is yours for less than one evening out: the Gītā, the chants, the epics, stories and games for your children, e-books across Vedānta, Vyākaraṇa and Śāstra.
The titles we opened this month start settling back into their usual plans after the 31st, gradually rather than all at once, so there is still time to make a favourite yours for good. Everything always open stays open. And if you would rather not, that is entirely all right. Whether or not you subscribe, being in this journey strengthens the movement. We have never been behind sales or numbers. We are behind your wellness through Saṃskṛtam, because the whole world is the better for it.
For us, all of this is a manuṣya-prayatna, our human effort, offered as a gratitude-samarpaṇam to Bhagavān for all we have been given: family, Gurus, and the anugraham of this Saṃskṛta-praveśa-jñānam. As an elder said, it is our tenant’s fee for living in the most comfortable place in the universe.
You have been learning with us, and that was always the part that mattered most to us.
